ABOUT THE CLUB
|
1967 saw the birth of Forest Hill Football Club. The club was formed by Ken Parry (ex East Burwood), Ken Walleur, Mick Cecil & Kevin Binns. Ken Parry coached the Nunawading Blues high school team and played cricket for Forest Hill Cricket Club which was formed in 1955. With the support of the cricket club and the fact that the ground was not being used in the Winter, the Nunawading High School Blues became the Forest Hill Cricket Football Club, with the colours of green and white. In 1968 the club was named the Forest Hill Football Club.
In 1970 Forest Hill Football Club entered the Eastern District Football League (EDFL). Forest Hill Football Club fielded a seniors & reserves team, as well as Under 17's & 15's teams in our inaugural season in the EDFL.
From 1971 to present day Forest Hill Football Club has continued to field senior and reserves teams. Forest Hill has also fielded a strong and successful junior club (although the junior teams were disbanded for a few years). The past decade has seen the return of a strong Forest Hill Junior Football Club. The benefit of a strong junior program was highlighted in 2003 when after a 12 Year absence, Forest Hill fielded an U18's Colts Team and in our return year we narrowly missed out on a Grand Final Berth.
Forest Hill continues to forge a strong relationship between senior & junior clubs and also has strong links with our past players in 2001 "The Foresters" was founded. The Foresters continue to grow & strongly support both Senior & Junior Clubs.
